About Me

CURRENT MISSION

be who you are, be what you want, without fear, without hesitation, without excuses

ABOUT ME

I've heard a lot of different adjectives used to describe myself: crazy. Wild. Crazy. Joyful. Strange. Unstoppable. Eager. Unpredictable. Easygoing.

I say I'm first and foremost just...me. I say that about myself--but in the best way possible (?) I just live life. I love to learn, and to laugh, and to bring joy to other people because there are so many unhappy people in life, and there's no reason to be unhappy. I'm not sure that I'm very responsible, and I'm not sure how good of a friend I actually am, but I love to listen to people and be there, and solve problems as best as I can--again, so many people are so unhappy, and I just want to help. Maybe my friends realize that? I'm not sure, but I do my best.

PHILOSOPHY

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Stop waiting!

Do it now: Passionately, immediately, and with no excuses.

The only thing that keeps you from being who you are is fear, and that's the biggest tragedy of all. Who are you afraid of?

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: True literature. Crime and Punishment. Count of Monte Cristo. The Three Musketeers. I want to soak up good books, any of them, all of them.

Movies: Any, and all. I go through lots of phases but I really like animated movies. Call me a dork, I don't care...but I love movies like Madagascar, Finding Nemo, Ice Age...action and adventure are great too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So much; never just two or three!

Stars seen standing in the middle of a bay in Bellingham, Washington, and the end of the world in Chile, and a ton of places in between

View of Bangkok from Wat Arun temple across the Chao Prayah River

Sunsets and sunrises in dozens of different places around the world, including over the world in planes

Korean mountaintops and the incredible views of forest and city as one

Smiling and laughing children in the Dominican Republic

Conversations with complete strangers in totally random locations...the absolute best.

Running my first marathon on Whidbey Island, Washington state, with mountains all around.

The skyline of Hong Kong at night

Hanging out in nets in trees with my best friends from college.

Hanging out in hammocks on the beaches in Thailand.

Exploring cliffs and palaces hidden in the jungles of Koh Phagnan Island in Thailand.

Crashing a motorbike and getting cured by a Thai medicine woman in the woods...

Singing in karaoke bars with Korean friends I just met two hours ago...and drinking and laughing and singing songs we all know.

Diving in the Gulf of Thailand

Bungee jumping in South Korea

Long conversations about God, and faith, and who and what God means

Hiking in Torres del Paine National Park, in Patagonia, Chile
