About Me

I lived in Japan for 7 years teaching English, and moved to DC afterwards to work at the Embassy of Japan. Now I am Program Coordinator for an internship program through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I am social and enjoy meeting people and being with friends. Swing dance has been my main go-to hobby recently and I’m trying to get better at it. I also love board games and a secret wish of mine is to own a board game store one day! Maybe in retirement…

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find couch searching to be a genuine and altruistic platform, which I stand for. I enjoy traveling and meeting people and Couchsurfing allows me to travel more affordably, and potentially meet like-minded individuals (if they are willing / have time).

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music: Literally anything I can dance to. Been recently digging Lost Frequencies.

Favorite Book: Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie. Currently reading “Prep”

Favorite Movies: Cloud Atlas for the movie that made me think most about life. Avatar 1 (James Cameron) for the emotional reaction I had. Many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The RW24. http://www.riverwest24.com/ It's a 24-hour bike race (hence the name 24, and the RW stands for "Riverwest", the part of Milwaukee the race is in). Riders choose their own path in an urban setting (traffic is not stopped) but they have go to four checkpoints in the correct order, and completing all four is a "lap". Riders with the most laps at the end of the 24-hour period wins. I tied for 10th place among three others.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach you board games (and would love to do so!)

Would love to learn new languages.

Will share a waffle recipe if we cook together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Would love to bring you a small souvenir from DC! Let me know if you have any dietary restrictions.
