About Me
So, this is the first time I'm updating my profile since 2016, when I was backpacking through europe and I realized how people become a synthesis of everything they live, a fusion of all past experiences.
I wrote a lot of yaddayaddaya before, when it was the first time I had ever traveled abroad and alone. Well, past Luca, let me tell you what ended up happening.
I studied three out of five years of engineering in São Paulo, Brazil. At uni, I found a few very exciting people that were passionate about mixing art and technology. We did all kinds of crazy stuff, from interactive art installations, to collaborations with awesome artists to crazy christmas trees. Those people helped me find my true passion: finding ways to intersect science and technology to artistic production. I realized engineering school was pretty much archaic on that sense, and I dropped out. Since in Brazil there was no actual studies on that area, I took a leap of faith and moved to europe on early 2018.
I spent a long time working at nighclubs on Gothenburg, Sweden. Met a lot of crazy swedes, gathered some work and life experience, also tried living in Glasgow, UK for more than half a year. Although the gin and scotch (and the glaswegians) were heavenly and fun, brexit wasn't.
After almost two years I left Brazil, I got accepted at an Art School in The Hague, which I'll be studying exactly the intersection between art and tech. And that's also why I need a few days on a couch!
Fun facts about me:
I am chill, open-minded and easy going.
I love some good techno for the mind.
I have an EP on Spotify.
Local food and culture is treasure.
I know how to program in C, Python and Java, I also still remember some electrical circuits stuff from engineering school.
I use these skills to program visual art and make projections.
I once accidentally (I promise) entered a military boat in Paris, got out of trouble when they found out I was brazilian and they loved Pelé and Neymar.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I guess I don't mind crashing anywhere. Hotels and most hostels (at least the ones I've been on) have always been so underwhelming and you end up not exchanging anything at all with people.
Whereas connecting with people on Couchsurfing is pure bliss.
Interests
Electronics and art are my two passions.
- arts
- design
- technology
- techno
- media
Music, Movies, and Books
Bossa Nova, downtempo, post-rock.
The Catcher in The Rye, The Unbareable Lightness of Being and A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Kleber Mendonça Filho, Sofia Copolla, Nicholas Winding Refn.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left the best engineering school in Latin America to study what fits me best.
Teach, Learn, Share
I must learn how to flip pancakes like a pro, that's for sure. Also, I'd like to meet cool people on the art and underground scene of each place I visit.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook nice south-american dishes, share some shallow cocktail knowledge, drop sick bossa nova beats or just hang out.
Also, I could teach you Calculus or programming if you want (not recommended though).
