About Me

Born in the middle of the summer, I ended up to be inloved with the cold season. They say Leo`s a very proud sign and they love to have very long walks. But are Leos design to enjoy winter or just to survive it? This is the point where paradox sets in and we have to open our eyes to see the real person in front of us. Using the ”ASL PLS” routine everybody can overcome the big paradox of the alterity. But the basic information can be kicked up a notch a little. Does it?

Funny. A future father which is soon to became an orthodox priest meets with a future mother which is soon to became his bride. They click in an instant. Both of them are name legaly with the pet names of Paulică and Ancauța. When the awkwardness is gone, they decide that if they had a child they will never name it with a pet name. I they never did. The first born had the name of the mediaval romanian ruler, who earlier inspired Bram Stocker to write his famous novel ”Dracula”.

That child was a well behave one. He didn`t spoke unasked and was blonde as the fields of Romania in the summer. Every 8th of august there was a party celebrating his arrival on this world. A cameraman documented everything for the first 6 years, making the little boy feel unconfortable. The his little brother was born. This time was the name of a great romanian revolution leader from the 19th century: Tudor. Loves them all three.

Skipping the gimnazium and highschool. His little brother was at home with his family as he moved in another city to study Advertising at first and then Film. He overcome his shyness and started doing research in everything. He hates the winter in Cluj, because is not snowing as much as home.

The long walks he still does. Sometimes detours are in place when I want to finnish listening to some music album. As a kid, Vlad walked as Chaplin and he still does. At least he`s presence has a hilarious efect. Witout the silly walk he would be a Lurch looking kind of guy.

He eventually ended up in all kind of places, always making a good impresion. His folks are proud of him, as he tackles life as they were.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostel are the same everywhere. People are not. For those who are not travelling to see ancient rocks, this alternative seems legit.
CS is a better way to get inspired.

Interests

Every day brings a new interest; that can have it`s ups and downs. Studying is important for me, so I spend a lot of time reading about things. If people were a timeline I can aproximate my interest like this.

0-1: surviving
2-3: the macarena song (as I been told)
5-8: wanted to be an archaelog so I was digging a lot.
10-14: girls
15-19: history
20-23: it all got complicated. Was into films and eager to make cinema, but this implies taking an interest in every detail of the reality. So maybe beer and literature

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I prefer has percussion instruments as leading. So I will crown the king: electronic music (artists like Burial, Amon Tobin, Crystal Castles,Aphex Twin or Fatboy Slim). I am opened about music as long as it`s good. For me, genre is not a way to select what I`m listening, but I use label to find new music. In highschool I was diging the the `90 jazz influenced hip hop music and I still do. Had my alternative period. The intresting part is that the music I was listening never shaped my personality. Stayed the same.

In taste of cinema I got more critical especially after I finnished film school in Cluj. I don`t see it as a good thing that I`m not able to watch movies I don`t like. But thanks God there are a lot of intresting cinema all around the world. I get amazed by Haneke, Dardenne brothers, Iranian directors like Panahi or Makhmalbaf or the South American cinema of Chile, Argentina or Mexico. Let`s give it up for Romanian too. Most important: everything that is bold and inovates both in script and image.

Very fond of the russians: Dostoievski, Tolstoi. Czech literature like Kundera or Kafka. After I went to the university I started reading less literature and more thoretical texts. This thing must be fixed ASAP.
