Hi there! My name's Lucia, I grew up in Yorkshire in the UK. I am new to Couchsurfing, which is why I have very few references. I am currently travelling to different countries by bicycle with my husband, Adam. In September 2018 we flew to Singapore, and as of March 2019, have cycled through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, a small section of China, Vietnam and back into Laos. The countries we will be cycling through next are: Cambodia, Thailand (again), S Korea, Japan, Alaska, Canada and the USA.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to try to meet new people living in the areas we are cycling through. Travelling by bicycle allows us to travel slowly and meaningfully, with the chance to meet new people along the way. Although we have some deadlines to keep to (for example visas or booked flights) we love to travel with flexibility. After mostly living in our tent for the last 6 months, a floor, sofa or bed are always gratefully appreciated after a long days cycle!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Arcade Fire, The Killers, alt-J, Lady Gaga, Blossoms, Christine and the Queens, Fat Freddy's Drop, Laura Mvula, Mumford and Sons, Sigrid, Royksopp, Snow Patrol, First Aid Kit, Adele, Vance Joy, HAIM, Simply Red, Queen, Fleetwood Mac. I studied Classical Music at university, so also enjoy listening to choral and orchestral music as well as opera.

As I enjoy singing, one of my favourite movies has to be Grease! I also enjoy action movies, especially if they include Arnold Schwarzenegger, such as Terminator and old school, Last Action Hero. I love comedies, one of my favourites has to be Bridesmaids.

My favourite books are detective novels, such as Harlen Coben, Paula Hawkins and Gillian Flynn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think this cycle tour I'm on at the moment is pretty amazing! The chance to explore interesting and inspiring places and meet wonderful new people is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Teach: As a Primary School teacher, I can teach children! Adults... mmm I could teach you to crochet?!
Learn: I used to play the cello and piano, so would love to learn how to play again after many years of neglect.
