ABOUT ME

They would say that I am a very persistent and motivated, and I will let nothing stand in my way. They would say that I might be too independent, but I am also sensitive and secretly love being cared for. They would be sure to mention that I am such a Sagitarius.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that I must take responsibility for my presence on this planet regardless of how hard that may be. To take responsibility involves a process of acceptance and acknowledgment of the effects of my actions and words, and not looking elsewhere to relieve myself of any guilt; I must take responsibility.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the most wonderful experiences couch surfing.
My first time was in Ireland and I have been devoted ever since.
I love the trust that is involved with the process of CS, and the
adventure that comes along with it. My experience has lead me
to amazing conversations and a completely different way of
traveling.

Interests

I am quite interested in the bizarre ways in which our large world works. I enjoy meeting new people, from different backgrounds, who have different stories, and learning about their lives. Music, dancing, singing, are all very important to me. I always hope to seek the beauty in this world, and I do by indulging in art and history. Most importantly, my heart's desire is to travel the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am all about jazz. It is at the centre of my world. My collection of records is vast, and my favourite way to spend time in laying on my floor, listening to my records. My favourites include Louis Armstrong, Bill Evans, Mahalia Jackson, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Don Byas, Horace Silver, Billy Holiday, Sidney Bechet, Lawrence Brown, Max Roach.... and well I could go on forever, it seems. I love a lot of other music, specifically hip/hop, rap, and rock n roll. My favourite part of music is listening and understanding social history through the stories music tells.

Toni Morrison's book Jazz is my favourite book in the world. I also love the work of Milan Kundera, Tom Robbins, and Isabel Allende. I love the poetry of Rainer Marie Rilke, Langston Hughes, Rumi, Nicki Giovanni, and again I could go on endlessly.

I help a python heart while living in rural South Africa.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It all starts with music and food for me. I love to cook and I love to share music with new people I meet. I am also really interested in the world around me, so I love to share stories, philosophies, experiences with new people I encounter.
