Über mich
Hi! My name is Lucie, I'm 24 and I'm from France. I graduated last june with a Master degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology and I decided not to pressure myself or rush to find a job/ settle down. I want to take my time, grow and I want to take the opportunity to experience different things.
My next destination is the Philippines and I feel very happy and lucky!
I'm open-minded, respectful and responsible. I'm a very smiling, caring and not a complicated person.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I think meeting new people is one of the best thing about traveling. You can discover incredible people and share moments that you will remember forever. When I travel it's important to me to take the opportunity to spend some time in a same place (thanks to Workaway or Couchsurfing for example) to meet people and get the chance to experience something more meaningful than simply visiting touristy places.

About the things I enjoy...
I choose to study psychology because I care for people and it was important for me to have a job that allows me to try to support others in some ways. I'm very empathic and sensible to solidarity. As a psychologist, I have experience working with adults and children dealing with mental illness or disabilities. My tesis was about depression and I was working on a group-therapy treatment program that includes psychoeducation, mindfulness-therapy, art-therapy, sport and nutrition to support depressed patients (especially those who can't or don't want to follow a medication treatment, or if the medication isn't working). In my free time I also volunteer.
Growing up with my dad playing/writing music and my mom painting in their spare time, I like art in its many forms. I played violin for many years, now curently learning piano. I also love photography, dance and movies. I'm a believer in the many benefits of art in therapy!
I really love cooking, sharing a meal and learning recipes from others. Especially if it includes fresh seasonal products and vegetarian-friendly meals! (But I want to mention: I don't judge people who are not vegetarian, I'm really open-minded about it and if it's not possible to eat vegetarian I will adapt myself, no problem)
I like being active and I especially enjoy outdoors activites such as kayaking, skiing, running, horse-back riding... and I love hiking!
Travel is something that is always on my mind. I'm grateful for my family, who gave me the love for travel when I was younger, going around in Europe or even in France (I do believe there isn't always the need to go far to see beautiful landscapes/cities and experience a different way of living) and as I grew up I started to travel with friends. As much I love it, I enjoy traveling on my own aswell, and I love what it brings to me and the people I get to meet.
One thing about traveling: mass tourism and what is does to the environment scares me. But I realise through the years that I don't have to follow this same path, there is many ways to travel, and I can find a way to travel that suits me and my values more.
I think my mind set when I travel is more to go somewhere without specific expectations or plan, live the moment, without any rush or check-list of the "30 must visit spots". Quality over quantity. I like the idea of taking the opportunity of immersing yourself in the way of living of the people who host you.
Studying one year in Bologna (Italy), and 2 years in Bruxelles (Belgium) was also a way for me to experience other countries while getting my degree
