About Me

Hi! I'm Lucie, a French history and geography teacher passionate about meeting new people, learning languages and discovering about cultures. I'm living near Geneva (but on the French side) and like travelling, especially in Europe even if I have further travel plans.

I love doing sports (running, hiking, skiing, climbing, volleyball, swimming).

I also love music (I am also a singer and song composer) and arts. I love discovering new places, whether it be big cities or nature. I also love cooking, mainly French, Italian and vegetarian dishes.

For ecological reasons, I prefer slow-travelling using the train or the bus as often as possible.

I've lived in Paris for 7 years, but also in Rome, Verona and Milan for my studies. I loved living in Italy! I plan on returning over there more often to finish my PhD in Ancient History (I'm studying Northern Italy during the 2nd century AD) More generally, I'm a very curious and open person, I like trying new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first I heard about couchsurfing but was a little bit scared to use it as a woman travelling alone, but two of my friends travelled using it and had no problems so it really gave me confidence about the website and the possibilities it would open. As a student, I had the chance to be hosted with some other local students and it has been from far my best travel memories - even though I travelled a lot in hotels or using Airbnb, to me the experience is more interesting when meeting people and exchanging with them. If you host me, I can cook for you some typical French (and/or Italian) food and will be happy to share some activities as well.
