Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything that can be listened to while cooking, depending on the meal and the mood:
Indie Rock, Rock, Balkan alternative rock, electronic and traditional music from all around the world, Jazz going from standards to impro and slow, easy rhythms:
I love Jakob Bro and Palle Mikkelberg as well as Sons of Kemet, but I also enjoy more dynamic beats.
Movies: Old classics, documentaries, experimental films, hybrid forms, anything from Agnes Varda, Lanthimos, Haneke, Tarkovsky or Bergman.
Literature: Virgina Woolf’s stuff, Sylvia Plath’s poetry, Rilke’s Letters to a young poet, a book that helped me through some dark moments, 20th century American poetry…
I am currently reading Sabato’s Of Heroes and Tombs and it’s absolutely astonishing, and I’m just finishing a book called The Tao of Nature which I would highly recommend to anyone feeling a bit lost.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There’s more than one:
Climbed a mountain opposite to Mont Blanc
Won national championships in speed skating
Made a short documentary film
Lived in Italy and Germany
Cycled thousands of kilometers
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d be happy to teach you how to skate if there’s a chance since I used to be a semi-professional ice-skater.
I also make an amazing and rather tasty carrot cake (you’re guessing, I love sweet things - there’s no such thing as la dolce vita)
I’d like to share opinions on global politics, urban topics, philosophical views, discuss problems and solutions, hear about various experiences and learn from you about your culture, lifestyle and language.
