ABOUT ME

Tout d'abord, je suis quelqu'un de curieux. C'est vrai que j'aime découvrir de nouvelles choses. Et c'est tellement bien quand en plus c'est quelqu'un qui s'y connait qui me les fait découvrir. J'adore l'échange de point de vue et découvrir le regard que les gens portent sur le monde.
Ensuite, j'aime cuisiner et découvrir de nouvelles saveurs. Pour moi, voyager est un moyen de développer mon intérêt pour les recettes et le goût des aliments d'ailleurs.

First, I am a curious person, I love learning. And it's so much better to learn from somebody who is experienced. I love to exchange point of views and understand how people relate to the world.
Also, I love to cook and discover new flavors. To me, traveling is a way to develop my interest in recipes and the taste of food elsewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

J'ai testé CouchSurfing grâce à mon compagnon qui a une grande expérience des voyages et qui a souhaité me faire découvrir une autre façon de voyager. J'adhère complètement à cette vision du voyage, je retrouve tout ce que je cherche : voir la face caché du pays où je voyage pour aller au plus près des gens.

My first CS was with my boyfriend who has a big travel experience and who wanted me to discover another way to travel. I totally agree with this vision travelling, which gathers everything I love : to see the hidden face of a country, and to get closer to the people.

Interests

Cette liste est interminable, je suis intéressée par tellement de choses. En ce moment, mon temps est bien occupé par mon métier, je suis enseignante. Mais ce travail me laisse du temps pour des activités comme l'équitation ou le roller.

J'adore la musique même si je ne pratique plus trop d'instruments je me dis qu'un jour je continuerai le piano et approfondirai la guitare.

J'ai fait de la peinture et j'ai appris la couture avec ma grand-mère, mais je manque de temps pour en faire autant que je voudrais.

Je fais partie d'une association qui souhaite favoriser l'éducation au Burkina Faso (http://apevo.free.fr/), l'année dernière nous avons réalisé la première partie de l'école.

This list is endless, I am interested in so many things. Right now, I'm quite busy with my job - I'm a primary school teacher. But I still find time for activities like horseriding or rollerblading.

I love playing music (guitar and piano) and even though I don't get to practice as much as I would like to, I hope someday I'll improve my skills...

Painting and sewing are also part of my hobbies, but again, time is often missing!

I'm also volunteering with a NGO called APEVO (http://apevo.free.fr/) that seeks to promote education in Burkina Faso. Last year, together with the locals, we have managed to build a primary school in Kankandé!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lors de mon voyage au Burkina, j'étais hébergé par des amis d'une amie. Pour aider, j'ai participé à la lessive du linge de la famille. Cette tâche qui à l'ordinaire est assez ennuyeuse chez moi s'est révélée extraordinaire là bas. Ça m'a permis de créer de vrais liens avec les femmes de la maison et de partager leurs pensées sur différents sujets. J'ai pu entrer dans leur monde et mieux les comprendre. De leur côté, elles m'ont dit que pour elles aussi ça leur avait permis de s'ouvrir plus facilement, c'était vraiment très émouvant.

Un autre moment insolite se passe un jour de promenade au zoo près du parc des gorilles vers la fermeture du parc. Je regardais les soigneurs nourrir les animaux, ils leur donnaient des tiges de bambou. J'étais assez proche d'un des gorilles et celui-ci se rapproche de moi et me passe par le grillage une des tiges qu'il comptait manger. Tout d'abord, je suis amusée mais quelques minutes après le soigneur m'expliquent que ce geste montre un signe d'amitié de la part du gorille à mon encontre. Je me suis sentie très reconnaissante et émue. J'ai encore aujourd'hui conservé cette tige de bambou.

During my trip to Burkina, I was hosted by friends of a friend. To help, I participated in the laundry of the family. This task, which is usually quite boring at home, has proved extraordinary there. It allowed me to create real connections with women of the house and share their thoughts on various topics. I was able to enter in their world and understand them better. They told me that it also allowed them to open up more easily, it was really very moving.

Another surprising thing happened one day walking to the zoo, near the gorilla park, just before the park closed. I watched the keepers feed the animals, they gave them a bamboo stick. I was pretty close to one of the gorillas who gave me one of the bamboo sticks through the cage. First I was amused but then the keeper told me that it was actually a sign of friendship from the gorilla. I felt very grateful and touched. Of course, I kept the bamboo stick as a souvenir!

J'adore cuisiner ! Je peux vous faire découvrir quelques plats que je prépare très bien (notamment les desserts...).
