Overview
About Me
As I write this, I am close to retiring. Most of my life, I have worked as a bookkeeper. I have always resided in Vancouver, never having moved out of the city limits.
I am a grandmother of two, and a step-grandmother to two more.
My spare time is spent making quilt tops for a charity that completes the quilt and provides them to senior's residences, teen moms, and others; knitting for my grandchildren; and participating in a book club and a walking club.
Online, I do crossword puzzles, play word games and fear that I am addicted to online solitaire.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find that locals can be great sources of information about events and places to visit that might not be in the tourist guides.
Music, Movies, and Books
It is easier to say what kind of music I don't like that what I do so that's what I will go with. I don't care for loud music with a heavy beat.
For movies, I tend to like the "feel good" stuff, and enjoy a good documentary. Something that can make me think while entertaining me is what I like best. I use the Kanopy streaming service provided though the public library, but only watch a couple of movies a month, if that.
I am not really into reading mysteries, but like almost anything else.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having lived a very ordinary life, I am having difficulty with this one. So I will mention a couple of things that I am proud of.
I received my undergraduate degree at the age of 57.
I created a knitting pattern for the school logo that my granddaughters attended and knit it into the back of a sweater for my granddaughter.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not to sure what to put here, but when I travel I like to learn about local history and interesting things about the place that I am visiting.
