About Me

ABOUT ME

Currently living and working Buenos Aires. This is an amazing city!

In a nutshell: I read lots of books, I'm a complete animal nut, I love going scuba diving, I like plans and spontaneity in equal measure, I'm loyal, stubborn, and will make all the dirty jokes in the conversation.

And I love to travel (guess that's a given), but can't imagine going somewhere without a book. Once got stuck for a few days in a national park in Chile and the only book around was KD Lang's biography. Not a happy camper!

PHILOSOPHY

Sometimes a bad idea is worth it just for the story. I fully believe that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I'm all for following your dreams, being true to yourself, and doing what you're passionate about. Everything is relative to time and space, and just because it's the right thing for right now, doesn't mean it will be forever.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Only signed up to CS recently -- couch surfed in New York which was great, and have been to some social events which were also really good fun.

Interests

Books, travelling, exploring market, scuba diving, challenging myself, spending excessive amounts of time on an island (though I'm not one to lie in the sun and fry), playing board games, nice parks, studying, sewing, animals, drinking white wine in the sun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh so many books!
Fave books are the Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey, the Book Thief by Markus Zusak, just read Burial Rites by Hannah Kent which was great, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, Ocean of Life by Callum Roberts, The Outsiders by SE Hinton, We need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver and the list goes on.

Do like my movies as well, I'll pretty much see anything except for foreign war films (saw enough of those in uni) and horror films.

My friend recently said to me (after I asked her for a mix-tape) that I'm really hard to figure out because I don't have a particular style, I just like random things. Here a few of those random things: Placebo, Regina Spektor, The National, First Aid Kit, Architecture in Helskinki, Lorde, Frightened Rabbits, The Strokes. I love reggaeton too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the dives are done were pretty amazing. I've done bareboat charters which were loads of fun and a great way to see some amazing islands.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty passionate about the ocean and sustainability and have just finished studying environmental management and sustainability. I will chew anyone's ear off about this stuff, and am hoping to transition my career into marine conservation.
