About Me

I’m a 25y/o solo traveler, originally from Northern California but traveling from Philadelphia, PA!

Professionally- I work in environmental protection and have a background in geology and soil sciences.

Recreationally- I love to chitchat and exchange stories! Back home I host a lot of get-togethers in my apartment (recent events include decorate-your-own tres leches cake and a crayon-themed birthday party). Im also an artist- my main mediums are painting, drawing, and collage; but I also sew, make jewelry, and do a lot of tinkering and creative reuse.

While traveling- my favorite activity is finding a live music show and drawing 2 copies of the band (one for me one for them). It’s such a good way to start a conversation, meet locals, and share an experience, plus everyone goes home with a souvenir!

My friends and family are very spread out within the US so although I haven’t done much Couchsurfing through this app, I do have a lot of experience staying in other people’s spaces. I will always be cognizant and respectful of your home and your time.

I’m sociable, clean, and hardworking and would be so grateful for some cultural exchange and a spot on your couch :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I usually do Workaways for travel accommodation but like Couchsurfing as a more relaxed or short-term option for connecting with people and cultural exchange! I’m so interested in learning what people love about the place they live, and what better way to learn about a community than from the people who make it up?

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a pretty wide variety but generally fav genres are modern rock, 70’s pop, and classic bops. I don’t watch many movies but I know a lot about The Simpsons. I’m not a big reader but my favorite books are Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle and Mitch Albom’s The 5 People you Meet in Heaven.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m always excited to try a New Thing, so I’d love to learn anything you’re willing to share or teach! I can teach about art therapy, graphic design, rocks, and give you tips for making the perfect chewy cookie.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Delicious meals (including vegetarian options) and sweet treats, I can pretty much always improvise something with what you have in stock. I can help clean or organize. I have a watercolor set and paper and am happy to do some art with/for you if you’re interested. I have many silly stories from my life and travels. Also a lot of gossip about the US government if that’s not too depressing.
