Overview
About Me
Hey, nice to meet you! I'm an earth-loving, open-minded, free-spirited, fun-loving, never-say-no kind of person. I thrive on new experiences and seeing new things. I'm originally from a little town on the southwest coast of England and will be moving to New York next year to start a PhD.
I'm currently taking a break from the usual structure of sedentary life and doing all I can to see the world. On top of experiencing all the wonderful and varied sights smells sounds the world has to offer, I think the best thing about traveling is the people. I mean there's so many them and most of them are pretty interesting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing really connects with what international travel should be about- that is meeting new people and experiencing new places and cultures. It allows you to see these places not just from a tourist perspective but through eyes of local people. Although I am new to couchsurfing I look forward getting involved in this wonderful community.

I hate to say it, but 'eclectic' probably does sum up my tastes. Always open to hear read and see new things
Here are my faves:
Books: Midnight's Children
Music: Beirut
Films: Fantastic Mr Fox
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Managed to talk my way out of a gunpoint robbery in Venezuela and get back most of my things. Shows that even the worst people you meet are still human
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm hot on most science topics, but physics, geology and environmental sciences in particular. I also fancy myself as a pretty good cook
