About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To visit at least 10 new countries by 2015. Getting trickier..

ABOUT ME

I'm from Colombia but have lived in Scandinavia since 1999 (incredible how time flies). I like to think of myself as "Latinavian": preserving my latino roots which I'm really proud of, but taking in all the good stuff the scandinavian culture has to offer.

I'm an outgoing girl that loves fun (I'm a little bit of a teaser), but that can take things seriously when necessary. I love travelling and am very curious by nature, specially when it comes to people with other life experiences. That together with the fact that I can be very talktive, means that conversations can easily take hours, as long as my counterpart does not mind :D.

I enjoy getting to know people over a bit of food; I like the relaxed atmosphere that usually follows with a meal and love to have people over or to arrange bbqs :-). Lately my cooking abilities have faded, but I love to learn new recepies and most of all to TRY ALL KINDS OF FOOD. Don't think I'm afraid of trying (have already tried some interestring stuff, he he).

I tend to lose stuff all the time (can be a little bit distracted) and am a procrastinator by nature.. people that know me know that I can be a very last minute person ;)

Oh! and unlike Garfield I LOOOOVE mondays!

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I'm trying to keep an open mind, since I have discovered that I don't always follow my own philosophy, but I do like the one that I heard from Berthold, a great CS from Germany:

"Life is what happen when you're busy making other plans"
John Lennon

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the moment, I offer my company and friendship to surfers visiting Oslo. Now and then, I also offer a couch. For the rest, time will tell :D.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only have had great experiences. I love both hosting, surfing or meeting people in the city... you open yourself and get close to people you otherwise would not. Cannot think of anything better since I have only met fantastic people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mongol Rally. Just gotta do it!

Spending my easter vacation (as a 14 year old) living in a children orphanage in Colombia. We lived, ate, did everything together, so in the end of the week, we were like a small family. An amazing experience.

Climbing in total darkness (I forgot my flashlight) to the viewpoint of the volcano Gunung Bromo (Indonesia) to see the sunrise. Scarry but cool.

Hitchhiking in Guatemala with a group of natives that did not speak a word of Spanish. We manage to communicate anyway!

Gratis Elton John concert in San Marco's square in Venezia, full moon, lots of stars and my beloved :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach/share:
1)Dance. Latinamerican dance, both folkloric from northern southamerica and more mainstream as salsa, merengue etc.
2)Travel tips/experiences: practical and spiritual.
3)Good and long breakfasts... favorite meal of the day ;D

What I hope to learn:
1) More of other countries: history, current situation, customs, languages.
2) Play guitarr. I had plyed some before but wouldn't mind to learn more.
