ABOUT ME

I grew up in Chengdu China, and I went to Beijing for college. Graduated in 2006, I came to the United States to study biology at Texas A&M University. Having worked a few years after graduation, i was tired of science research and became a food photographer in New York. However, after 2 years, i changed again and came back to school to study actuarial science. i have one more semester to go and try to enjoy the life as a student again!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first heard of it from an online forum.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have couchsurfed once, and i am still new to this community, but i have plenty of experiences sleeping on the couch!!:)When I somehow found this community, I was thrilled and freaked out by how smart the inventor is to think of this idea. I don't like the typical tourists' way of exploring a city, staying in hotels, either eating in chain restaurants they are familiar with like Subway, McDonald's, or totally being overwhelmed by the numerous new eating options and having no idea which one to pick. Couchsurfing isn't just about finding somewhere to stay during your trip, but a local way of exploring the city. Your host can tell you the best steakhouse around the neighborhood, or take you out to eat with his/her friends and have some wonderful conversation. Isn't it cool? Exploring new places, Knowing new people, keeping contacts and maybe one day you can reciprocate their kind hosting. I have to admit even now when i think of couchsurfing, I can't help admiring the inventor of this website.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I was in the cycling association of my school the last year of college. It took us three days to ride from Beijing to Qinhuangdao, with 8-12 hours of riding every day.

i was a freelance photographer in NYC for a year.
