About Me

Im 25, British, and am travelling around the states. I love films, watching them and filming things, like random snippets of life. I like playing music with people. I'm pretty chilled, but like to have fun too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've met some amazing people on couchsurfing. Its a great place to meet people who live in the place and a great platform for housing exchange too!

Interests

I like to make improvised experimental films. I also like writing things-poems, prose, short stories, scripts. And reading. I also play the saxophone and jam around on a few other instruments such as guitar, piano and mess around with electronic effects and pedals and stuff. I'm pretty into tai ji as well. Definitely an underestimated physical and mental activity!

Music, Movies, and Books

Its all pretty hard, buuut, a little list...
Films - I generally way prefer older films but there are a few good new ones...films generally by Harmony Korine - Gummo, Julian Donkey Boy; also Lars Von Trier - Melancholia, The Element of Chrime; John Cassavetes, Jonas Mekas; I also really liked La La Land.

TV Series - easier to choose - westworld, new girl, true detective...

Music - pretty varied but again, a few tasters: I love Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, The Beatles, James Holden, Flying Lotus, Slim Whitman, John Lee Hooker, La Monte Young, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler the Creator, Larry June...

Books - Herman Hesse seems to almost always put me in unbelievably good places - Siddartha, Steppenwolf. Jean Rhys, Jack Karouac, Gregory Corso (more for poetry), Arthur Miller, Ibsen...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

rode horseback herding goats in mongolian steppe.

Teach, Learn, Share
