Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Greetings!
Im Luis from Santo Domingo Dominican Republic and Im visiting chicago for a YNG Seminar (Preparing for Profesional Life). Im currently looking for a place to stay for the mentioned dates however I am planning to couch surf once more a few days after the program is done (aug 6 till aug 10) Days in between ill be Staying at a hotel for the duration of the program.
The idea is to arrive a few days before and leave a few after the program so I can enjoy more of the city.
I have never couch surfed before, however im really outgoing and would prefer being able to share experiences with a local than staying by myself in a hotel.
I enjoy cooking, wine and learning about other cultures.
