About Me

Hello!!! My name is Alejandro. Call me Alex or Ale. I recently moved to Austin TX. Always wanted to live in a bigger/happening city.

I am a very easy going person. I enjoy all sorts of topics of conversation. Specially if I get to learn new things. Love exploring. Discovering new areas. New experiences.

Life trajectory has been fun. I studied Engineering (mechanical) in Flagstaff AZ. Worked in Montana. Then Yellowstone. Backpacked a few countries during this time. Then I lived in Mexico for 6 years. Started my own business building/remodeling homes. Very cute/detailed work let me tell you. And now I am back in the States. Austin seems like a bit of fun. I plan to live here for a while.

Hola! Me llamo Alejandro. También me puedes llamar Alex o Ale. Recientemente me mudé an Austin. Siempre eh querido vivir en una ciudad grande con muchas cosas que hacer.

Soy una persona relajada. Me encanta todo tipo de conversaciones. Especialmente si puedo aprender algo nuevo. Me encanta explorar. Descubrir ideas nuevas. Y nuevas experiencias.

Hicimos unos trabajos hermosos. Y ahora estoy de regreso en EUA. Austin parece una ciudad súper divertida. Planeo vivir aquí un rato.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The idea of meeting people (learn from them, hear them, share with others) was planted in me by my step parents. Every time I walked into my parent’s house there would always be someone new there. New conversations. Different perspectives. New things to learn/teach. Couchsurfing at its best it’s an incredible opportunity to constantly connect with people on this journey of life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summited Aconcagua mountain. Tallest mountain in the Western Hemisphere. 6962 meters/22, 840 ft. With my best friend. 12 days to reach the summit. Self supported. Carried all our equipment. Ate a lot of pop tarts. Melted glacier ice to cook ramen noodles 😁.

Was bit by a monkey and had to take rabies shots in Cambodia.

Hiked an old section of the Great Wall of China.

Motorcycled Vietnam for 3 months.

Ran my own business for 6 years.

Climbed the 1st, and 3rd tallest mountains in Mexico.

Teach, Learn, Share

In my opinion, and this goes also as part of the reason why I am on Couchsurfin, for the most part we are all living/will live similar experiences. The more time we can spend with people. Listening to their journey. The more we can share our past knowledge with them and viceversa. This is how we move through life imo.

As part of who I am I wish to be as open as posible with the people I meet. And I hope to encounter similar individuals.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking. I love exploring: perhaps a new area of your city you haven’t been to. As a previous endurance athlete we could tackle some challenging excursions. Road biking. Physical hobbies. Any advice I can give from my knowledge: trips, business, engineering.
