The more you travel the more people you get to know, people which inspire you and turns out they can teach ya lot about life. Sometimes not even on purpose ;)

Well I guess the main reason for it is to meet new people and share and collect memories and experiences. I love being connected to all kind of different personalities, in my opinion it makes life a little bit more interesting.
