Hello there!
I'm Lou, I'm from Germany and at the moment I'm backpacking in New Zealand for a total of 15 months. About 4 months are left for me in this beautiful country!

About me:
I'm an artistic person, and I enjoy nature very much. It's one of the greatest things for me to be outside, climbing mountains, drinking the clear fresh water from the river. As such I've done the Rees-Dart track and Traverse Sabine Track and beautiful day hikes all over both islands.
I like to read, my favourite book is The Picture of Dorian Gray. And I am very interested in movies and film, and love to practice yoga. Back home I took kickboxing classes, too.
As soon as I live more permanently in a place again, I want to learn rock n roll dancing

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite band is Linkin Park! I also like Green Day and Panic! At The Disco. But why limit yourself to only a few genres? Because I'm a bit geeky, there's also a few movie scores I like listening to.
I love watching movies/TV shows. My absolute favourites are The Fountain, David Cameron's Avatar, Marvel Movies, Lord of the Rings and BBC's Sherlock.
Best books I've read so far? The Picture of Dorian Gray, Artemis Fowl, Lord Of the Rings, Ranger's Apprentice.
But hey, the universe is big, so new stuff is always interesting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few summers ago I went on an 11 day long hike trip across the alps from north to south. It was honestly one of the best times of my life and an awesome and adventurous journey. There was one morning when we had the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen. We'd slept in a hut around 2000m above sea level and went out in the morning and the sun was just rising and this pure golden sunlight shone on the valley below us and coloured the clouds below us in this crazy honey tone... The picture I took can't possibly show how beautiful it was in real life. That's probably one of the most amazing things I've done.

The Rees Dart track down in Glenorchy was pretty cool, too. Five days of walking in the beautiful New Zealand Alps! Ohhh, and I spent 10 days in the Hauraki Gulf where Auckland is, sailing on a 25 foot Cavalier sailing boat. I loved every minute of it, and learned a lot about sailing, the islands, nature, sea,...
