About Me

I've been working in book publishing as a translator and I was a Portuguese teacher for some years (both to kids and adults), so language is one of my main interests.
I'm also a musician and over the last years I've been doing photography (mostly 35mm film).

I love literature, cinema, music, photography, nature, food, language, architecture, politics, and I'm very interested in technology and programming as well, so I guess I'm just curious about everything.

As I said, I like to talk about many things on different levels, and of course there's a time for everything, but I notice that I tend to be more engaged when it's time for more honest, thoughtful and personal conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the richest part of travelling is the interesting people you meet; that's what stays longer in memory at least.
I feel like many times people just end up rushing to touristic spots like they're making some sort of collection or checking a list of chores, trying to fulfill an expectation, and forget that what makes a place is its people, how they relate with each other and with their surroundings.
Obviously, (some) locations are touristic for a reason, I just try to find the balance between visiting them and spend some time wandering around the streets with no rushes or expectations.
This is definitely the right community to truly be able to know a place through people.

Interests

Music, Cinema, Literature, Photography, Guitar, Travel, Food, Video and Board Games.

One of my favourite things is riding a bicycle, I believe it's the perfect rhythm for moving around, specially if I'm surrounded by nature. I really like trains as well.
