Overview
About Me
Hi everyone - my name is Luka and I'm a graduate from Oxford university now doing my masters degree in Philosophy at KCL, who has very recently embarked on the adventure / travel life! I'm half Northern Irish and half Serbo-Croatian but have lived all my life in the UK (London and Oxford).
Would love the chance to travel some more and meet others in the process!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I gain so much joy from meeting new people in new places and stepping out of my comfort zone to get to see more of the world, all the while blessing and being blessed by other people in kindness!
Interests
I am interested in A LOT of things (whether that is recreationally, professionally or as a passion) - ranging from martial arts to analytic philosophy; from skateboarding to seeking to art galleries; soul music to classic films! So I'm sure I can find some common ground and/or learn something new with the people I meet!

Music, Movies, and Books
I genuinely am open to and find something I love with every genre of music - from afro-cubism to drum and bass!
I particularly love Soul, Funk and Disco music - Earth, Wind and Fire all the way!!
Same with films, I'm seriously into them (quite probably watched over 1000 now)! Favourite film has to be The Wizard of Oz (unbelievable classic and very wholesome). The Shawshank Redemption, Spirited Away, The Matrix are all up there too.
I try to read a lot (mainly non-fiction though). Big fan of John Steinbeck - Of Mice and Men. Also gotta love the Bible (as a Philosophy and Theology student)!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completed a university degree at Oxford and somehow came out slightly sane!
Got involved in a debate between two world-famous philosophers at a bar
Teach, Learn, Share
(see below for what I can teach)
I'm always keen to learn (pretty much anything). High up on my list is to improve my languages (French and Serbo-Croatian especially but also biblical Greek and Hebrew), to improve my musical ability (viz. piano and guitar, but also singing), to improve on DIY (both indoor renovation and mechanics for vehicles), data analysis and coding, etc. So I have a very wide range of things I'd like to explore!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My undergraduate degree was in Philosophy and Theology, so my main skills lie there!
I am comfortable cooking regular or dietary-specific (e.g., vegan) meals for individuals or groups of people.
I am able and keen to do all sorts of house cleaning, from dishes to dusting, mowing lawns to clearing out attics!
I am also happy to do pretty much all basic manual labour roles both indoors and outdoors.
I have some experience with martial arts (Seido karate, Muay Thai boxing, wrestling and Brazilian jiu jitsu) so I'm happy to share some of that / co-teach.
I have experience tutoring other humanities subjects more widely - viz., English Literature and History. I also have experience in working in secondary school contexts and experience with teaching children with special educational needs.
