Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Brno, Czechia. University saved my soul and showed me the way and where my place on earth is. 29-year-old teacher of English and Czech with teaching experience in state elementary schools, language schools and tutoring.
I've always been interested in literature, especially poetry, doing sports, I played tennis as a registered player in puberty, and nowadays I cycle, climb and jog or do canicross :-) last but not least, music has always had a special place in my life playing a bit of a guitar and singing in a choir. It's been two years I explore interpersonal communication and focus on experiencing and perception of emotions and reflecting it. I've started to analyse who I am, what my childhood traumas are and how to heal them. I've always loved meeting new cultures and people, learning their language and getting to know each other since, in my opinion, that is the best way how to get to know oneself best - through the exposure to unknown or unfamiliar views or ways of living.
I was a vegetarian for four years for ethical reasons. I now live in Romania and still cook solely without meat, nevertheless, when invited for lunch or dinner from locals, I now eat meat as most locals have cattle in their household and cook their bio meat.
I live and teach Czech in South-West Romania in a small Czech village.
I've stayed in foreign countries couple times – spent a few months in East London working in a team taking care of the biggest, longest and fastest slide in the world - Arcellormittal Orbit. Then, I did my Erasmus+ study stay in Lisbon, and I did my Erasmus+ teaching internship in Romania, same place I am now, two years ago. I also stayed in Madrid in Spring 2023.
So now you can find me in Saint Helena or Timisoara where I can sometimes offer accommodation.
See ya!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've stayed with a couple of hosts, I've attended some CS events and man they're such nice people! Love it and want to keep in touch with the community and pay back the hosts' hospitality to other travellers that may be in need of the roof over their head in my area.
In addition, there's only one way to get to a foreign culture real close - go and live it, stick to locals – ideally stay or live with them.
