Hi!

My name is Lukas and for now I am living in southern Denmark in a small city called Aabenraa near the german border. I am now 20 years old and volunteer through the Erasmus+ Programm "European Volunteer Service" at the local culture house "NygadeHuset".

I was born in a little town in the middlewest of Germany and spend my whole life there until now. I graduated in summer 2016 and it was definitely time to make a change and get out of your comfort zone. (Also I hated my little hometown and it depressed me somehow, I think many people with the same background can understand me.) So decided to make a volunteer year not in my home country, to learn another culture and meet other people with the same interest as I. Some of you can say of course that Denmark is really not far away and not really different than Germany, but even here are really big cultural differents I didn't thought about. The distance from Germany is really not far and I really wanted to go farer away, trust me. But all in all is everything fine and Aabenraa is a really nice city and now I can support all the travellers, who are crossing the danish-german border and on their way to other destinations.

I'm an open-minded person, who always has an open ear. I love music and to share it with others. Also I want to learn from other people to see their point of view or maybe new things and interest I didn't knew before.

Because I experienced the openness and the spontaneity from all the other people from different countries during my EVS, I want to help other travellers to come around and also explore the world more in the future. Living in a so small country can open your eyes how big and various people and culture is.
