Hi,
my name is Lukas and I'm from Aachen, Germany.
I live in Regensburg, Bavaria since 2006, where I studied medicine and now work as a doctor (Residency in Radiology).
When I'm not spending my days in a basement, looking at black/white pictures and drinking coffee, I love to travel, do almost any kind of sports, go to concerts/museums and meet friends.
My studies and holidays have led me to most countrys in central/southern Europe, Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland, Northern Africa, South-Africa, to the US-Westcoast and to Atlanta/parts of the gulf coast...but I'm hungry for more!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When travelling, I love to meet new people. For me it's not just the city I want to get to know but the people that live there. And also: having a chat with locals often gives you more interesting information about the city you're in than every lonely planet can offer.

The people I met when surfing always gave me a warm welcome and were very generous. I want to pay that forward when hosting!

I listen to almost any kind of music... but I really like guitars. At the moment, some of my favorite bands/artists are: Queens of the Stone Age, The Libertines, The Strokes, Nick Cave, Maximo Park, Fleet Foxes, Best Coast, Johnny Cash, The Walkmen, Vampire Weekend... I could continue, but...

When I find the time I love to read. Some of my favorite Writers are T.C. Boyle, Harry Mulisch, Hunter S. Thompson and Haruki Murakami, but I also like classics, especially Dostoyevsky, Tolstoi and Chekhov

Some of my favorite Movies: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Snatch, Inception, The Big Lebowski, Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, Life is Beautiful, The Departed, Sin City and Up! (really).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I brew my own beer back home in Germany... I'm learning from badge to badge and I'm getting there step by step.
