Overview
About Me
I'm a film sound engineer and classical musician from Poland. I recently came to the US for a long cultural reconnaissance, and I'm trying to revive my student-era traveling adventure, when I zigzaged across most of Europe.
I'm not a party animal, more of a thoughtful type who values meaningful private conversation over a frenetic company of a crowd. That being said, I enjoy company of humans more than any other spiecies and tend to form sincere, close connections very quickly.
I'm fascinated with classical music, film, literature, evolutionary psychology, philosophy and buddhism, history and psychology of music - most of which I'm hugely ignorant of, but consistently filling blind spots. I'm an enthusiast of podcasts, a medium that delivered me from captivity of screens and chairs (to some extent), and let me ride a bike and learn ancient history at the same time.
I travel with a microphone to gather ambience of places I visit (and I have a thing about recording bird songs - when slowed down, they reveal unspoken beauty and complexity of melodic and tonal structures, an alien musical universe).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new here, but it seems like CS is a a great way to get an inside-view of a culture. a secret rabbit hole for travelers seeking cultural authenticity and human contact. My brother, veteran Csurfer, sold me the idea - even thought he wrote his anthropology thesis on CS' moral crisis.
