About Me

I am currently a Masters student at the University of Southampton, who will be carrying on to do a Ph.D in September in Medical Statistics and Mathematics.

I love to travel and meet new people, and become inspired by people from a diverse range of backgrounds. I have always been passionate about experiencing all cultures, even if it is simply just a taste of a country's national dish!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing provides a chance to really get to experience a country from a non- commercial perspective, allowing a true view of what the country is like. As couchsurfing hosts are not likely to be money-driven (as hosts from accommodation businesses are), it would allow me to experience travelling without being bribed constantly to buy things and would be bias free! It would allow me to meet likeminded people and will provide the chance to share my experience with them.

Interests

My main interest is in my research and the subject that study (Mathematics). Other interests include: Travel, Films, Music, Food, Climbing, Meditation and Buddhism. I really enjoy outdoor activities as well as appreciating the simple relaxing things in life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of musical genres. From rock music to classical, electronic and folk. I spend a lot of time listening to cultural music, such as the sitar sounds of India and relaxing Tai Chi sounds.

My favourite movies include: Into the Wild (an obvious choice for a traveller), Apocalypto, Inception, Shutter Island, A beautiful mind and Pulp Fiction. I also watch a lot of documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the age of 18 I travelled to India on my own for 5 weeks and saw some amazing things... This might seem trivial to some on here, but it is something I am really proud of doing at such a young age.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think that my company is enjoyable, and that I have a lot to share with any host. I am really laid back and always make sure that I am no trouble at all. I also like to think that I have a good sense of humour, so will do my best to bring some humour along with me!

I would really enjoy discussing languages (even though it is not something I am particularly good at - yet), it is something that I am really keen to improve and enjoy learning.
