About Me

I'm a student from the University of South Carolina, but my hometown is in Kingsport, Tennessee. I'm currently based in Berlin, Germany at the Freie Universitat Berlin. After I complete my semester in Berlin, I'll be flying back to the United States in Seattle, Washington to begin work at Starbucks Coffee as an intern for their global supply chain. I am a business student, but my hope is to continue my studies and eventually become a city planner; I'm passionate about the economic development of rural Appalachia, an often mis-characterized and under-represented area of the United States.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Europe is fascinating. I have such an immense respect for the centuries-old planning and constant re-organization of these great communities across the continent. Insert monologue on being a broke university student hoping to save money here, but really it is a truly remarkable thing to be able to see such variety of cityscapes, get the perspective of people who live in them, and hopefully see this perspective shape my future career.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am on my university's triathlon team, and I've run a full marathon!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I was born and raised in the Appalachian region of the United States which is grossly misrepresented not only on a national but also international stage. Stemming from socioeconomic factors, many people from this area don't get much of an opportunity to engage with people far beyond their own community. I hope this perspective might be interesting enough for you to want to host me.

I also have pictures on my phone of my 1-year-old puppy (hint: she's very cute) currently living in the United States that are exclusively for hosts who are nice enough to welcome me into their homes.
