I am a journalist who is taking some time to travel South America to learn the language and the culture. I have worked across Canada as an editor and journalist, but decided to take a bit of time to explore another part of the world.

I had a very typical Canadian childhood in a small town, weekends were often spent at hockey tournaments or guitar recitals. I spent most of my summers camping and canoeing.

I made it my goal to try and be fluent in Spanish by the end of this trip — might have bitten off more than I can chew. So forgive me for my awful accent and lack of vocabulary when you meet me.

I can help teach English as well as how to cook some authentic Italian meals. Additionally, I can teach a few card games including the Canadian classic game, Euchre.

I have plenty of amusing stories about myself and am an easy person to hang around with. I travel with a deck of cards and am always good for a game.

Additionally, I'm not a bad cook and am happy to make a meal for any host who is gracious enough to have me.
