About Me
Hello!
My name is Luke Mills. I am a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville studying computer science. I am a co-op (returning intern) at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX (so I will be in Texas occasionally, when I'm not in school).
I love my work and love to travel. I enjoy outdoors activities including running, hiking, backpacking, cycling, kayaking, and climbing. I am passionate about travel, computer science and entrepreneurship, cycling, self improvement, and exercise.
Of course what's listed here is not an exhaustive description of my personality and interests (that would take many pages), but this at least gives you a decent picture of me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in the value of sharing that Couchsurfing promotes. In sharing ones personal space, new connections can be formed, stories can be exchanged, and we all grow a little from being exposed to the different backstories and experience of others, thus I look to share my apartment and travel within the network to expand my horizons!
Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy classic rock, punk rock, classical music, and electronic music.
My favorite books include The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings series, The Storytelling Animal, Beowolf, the works of John Muir, and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas and had the chance to meet and speak with multiple astronauts!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach computer science, mathematics, and of my own experiences and knowledge gleaned from my past.
I would love to learn more about entrepreneurship, your experience with computer science (if applicable) or your experience with technology in your everyday life, your stories of growth, experience, and adventure. I feel that one can learn the most from the past experiences and stories of others, so I would be glad to learn of them!
I have many stories to share of my relatively short past, having moved many time across the east coast, experiences with a variety of significant struggles and resulting growth, and my approach to a successful and happy life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be glad to share my stories and my coffee making expertise! I travel with an Aeropress coffee maker, which makes excellent coffee with the right skill (fortunately I have been practicing Aeropress for the past 3 years)! I would also be glad to lend advice into technical problems or share my knowledge of computer science!
