Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted a few times, have surfed a few times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Usually I've just surfed around places in the South, where I kind of know the area and know what I'm doing.

Intereses

Traveling, music, movies, books, outdoors-type-stuff, dancing, live music, stand-up, podcasting. In my 9-5 I'm a librarian, and I'm interested in special collections and archives, and in seeing the way public libraries support their communities. Wherever I'm traveling, I'm always interested into looking into the local libraries. I'm also interested in local culture, music, stand-up, and anything related to movies, e.g. shooting locations or museums, or anything really.

Being a librarian I'm obviously into reading. I try to read broadly, but I especially like detective fiction, meta- and post-modern fiction, creative essays, modern literary fiction, comic books and graphic novels, pop-science journalism, and occasionally some fantasy or sci-fi. Mostly what I look for are strong voices; the actual story could be about anything. But I do like dense plots and intricate, echoing themes.
Favorites:
Infinite Jest/A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again/pretty much anything by David Foster Wallace
Telegraph Avenue/also pretty much anything by Michael Chabon
Cryptonomicon/ditto Neal Stephenson
Bad Mother - Ayelet Waldman
The Name of the Wind/The Wise Man's Fear - Patrick Rothfuss
The Sandman series - Neil Gaiman
The Ghost Writer - Philip Roth
Killing Yourself to Live - Chuck Klosterman
Blankets - Craig Thompson

Algo increíble que he hecho

I shelved non-fiction books in a library for 2 years and I have the Dewey Decimal system memorized. It's a great party trick!
