ABOUT ME

Im 31 very laid back male and from England (Hertfordshire)! I love to turn every situation into a joke and never take myself too seriously...i guess im a big advocate of the british 'banter'.

I am currently travelling with my wife on our honeymoon and we love to constantly meet new people. I am a very confident person, and despite my love of comedy i am an honest, reliable and respectful person, that has been brought up well and very well mannered.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My Wife and I are currently on our honeymoon and decided to backpack rather Tha the usual 2 week luxury holiday. We would love to meet local people and learn about the local culture and community, and hopefully make new friends along the way and return the favour some day.
I am currently travelling so unable to offer a bed or couch at the moment, however when I return home in March we will gladly host any body at my flat that finds themselves my part of the world!! We are qualified English teachers and are happy to give lessons to show our appreciation for the stay. We are also happy to help with any tasks

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first Couchsurfed in Calgary, Canada. I had been sleeping in my car whilst travelling but couldn't hack the -15 temperatures and so found this site. I stayed with 2 different hosts both were extremely welcoming and very nice people and we are still friends. I am looking forward to returning their generosity to other travellers

Interests

Comedy - I go to live comedy clubs, shows and festivals at any chance i get! Tommy Cooper was the best ever

Sport - Being from the UK i have to love football!! I also absolutely love cycling. I have recently tried skiing, which i am really bad at but enjoy.

Music - I love music that is not mainstream so small bands that are relatively unheard of. I dont believe in liking a specific genre, if its a good song it doesnt matter what category it falls into. Obviously there are big bands and musicians that i listen to aswell

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ha its hard to list these without sounding egotistical, but 2 that are my most memorable are Skydiving over the Great Barrier Reef and living in China for a year, learning mandarin and climbing the Great Wall

Teach, Learn, Share

My Wife and I are both qualified Teachers of English as a foreign language and are happy to give lessons in exchange for the stay. We lived and were Teaching in China for a year and have also worked in the UK in schools so have experience of teaching all ages.

I can share some british humour - we love our one liner jokes so have a catalogue of those

I have travelled pretty extensively and would love to share my experiences with people

I would love to learn and hear about peoples experiences and stories from different cultures i.e not the western world! Culture shock and different traditions fascinate me
