One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was hit by a truck while cycling in Downtown Toronto and helmet-less (dumb) - he hit me from behind while trying to gun ahead of me while I was merging into his lane - because I was hit from behind it threw me forward saving me from following my bike under his wheels and saving my life.
I spent three days in Charlottetown the day after I was hit, arriving with no hotel reservation or accommodation set up to find out there was a shellfish festival in town that weekend and there were no rooms available in the whole city! I spent three days outside, reading and strolling the town, sleeping on the beach and enjoying every second. I experienced the most serene afternoon of my life my second day there. The contrasts of those few days are an accurate depiction of the kind of extremes I often find myself navigating in this baffling and inexplicably exciting life.
