Nearing two years of life and work in Hanoi, Vietnam. Senior EFL teacher at Apax English (and the student's favourite).
Adventurous, very easy-going, jokey, ambitious, a little too football-obsessed perhaps? I'm trying to take my photography hobby more seriously now I'm travelling in such a stunning part of the world. Always happy to have a ramble on anything from sport to politics to the fabric of existence over a beer or coffee (depending on the time of day)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I caught on when my housemate in Barcelona hosted people in our flat and thought it was a brilliant way to travel. I'd offer my own home if it didn't change every week!
Seeing the world with every penny in my pocket, speaking other languages, photography, the beautiful game, trying to give us English a good name abroad
Music, Movies, and Books
Films - Star Wars, westerns, anything Scorsese or Tarantino
TV - The Thick of It, Black Mirror, Game of Thrones, The Office (US), Black Books, Phoneshop, Parks and Recreation
Books - can't beat a good Lee Child thriller
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing all 12,198ft of Mount Teide with all of 0 days hiking or climbing experience
What I Can Share with Hosts
As an English teacher I'm always happy to help with any queries you might have on our gloriously complex language. My girlfriend is a fantastic cook and can whip up something delicious at a moment's notice.
