I'm embarking on my first journey overseas. In many ways it feels like my life's just beginning... goes without saying it's a very exciting time!

I believe people are generally more capable than they give themselves credit for. I can drone on about this sometimes.

The Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump together are the chicken soup for my soul!

It's the oldest cliche in the book, but I couldn't face the day not believing that if I work long and hard enough my dreams will come true. Hell, a 70 year old just won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. He's effectively trumped any excuses I may ever have for throwing in the towel!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I figured out I wanted to be a writer when I was only 19. I take it as a true blessing. It really hit home in a post-graduate course I took where most other students were almost middle-aged. They envied my clarity at such a young age. It still amazes me that I figured this out, because really it was just an unconscious gift bestowed upon me.

A wonder exists in this world that too many do not see or feel, yet it exists for all of us. It reveals itself every time you get moved by a good story, among myriad of other ways. Though I will never know its depths, I live each day hoping the stories I create illuminate it for others, if only so slightly. By writing I'm learning. By traveling I'm learning. By meeting people I'm learning. I enjoy sharing my stories, the philosophies I hold dear, and learning in kind!
