About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world and get a different perspective!

ABOUT ME

An eternal optimist! I love the idea of completely leaving my comfort zone and throwing myself in the deep end. I have a pretty romantic idea of what travel can be, and the value of embracing all of its experiences and challenges. I'm really keen to meet lots of people from all over the world, hear their stories and hopefully achieve the great goal for travel - Perspective!

PHILOSOPHY

I think the experience of travel will naturally develop a more rounded personal philosophy, but for now it's really based on enjoying others company and experiences, and learning to see the positives in any situation!

Interests

All different kinds of music, trying new foreign languages and exercise. Exercising to foreign music is always fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music and movies are a pretty eclectic mix, though I certainly prefer to read a good John Le Carre novel over another psych stats text any day of the week! My favourite books include Casino Royale, He died with a felafel in his hand and the Tasmanian babes fiasco (two Aussie classics on share-house living), A perfect spy, and The House of God.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent most of 2010 travelling around the US, Europe and North Africa. There are too many amazing experiences from that trip to mention, but staying with amazing couchsurfing hosts definitely ranks highly!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love this site! I'm not good at knots or yoyo tricks, well apart from a mean rock-the-cradle, but I suppose I can speak fairly intelligently about psych or international politics. I'm particularly interested in social and developmental psychology and international relations.
