Hello! I hail from the United States, but I will begin teaching English in Montpellier, France this fall. As most folks on Couchsurfing, I enjoy meeting new people (especially international folks) because these relationships can often lead to quite meaningful exchanges and moments of self-discovery. Couchsurfing interests me because it provides opportunities that staying in a hostel or a motel might not: whereas one certainly can meet many people at a hostel, Couchsurfing allows a traveller to install him/herself temporarily into the life of a local in a given city.
