About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel, discover, and stay adventurous.

ABOUT ME

I am a really down to earth person who loves the natural world and everything that it has to show and teach us. I get a kick out of interacting with interesting people and being outdoors and getting active. I studied Geology at university for four years and then worked as a Geologist at various underground gold and copper lead zinc mines. During my time as a geologist I decided to take a year off and travel around South and Central America. I loved to travel before I went to Latin America but after that experience I really go the travel bug and am certain that It will never leave me. One of the things that I love about Latin America is that it is so diverse. This reflects what I love about life, its diversity.
After working on the mines I got bored and sick of the work and decided on a change of career. I studied for a year to become a teacher and now I am a high school Mathematics teacher and am loving it.

I love interacting with people because it is very rewarding and diverse. I also love mathematics. There is something very beautiful and exact about it.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you want to be treated yourself and that for me is happily and with respect :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just started using this website but i have hosted people before. I was renting a house for about 2 years and we had one room of the house dedicated to CS people. One of my house mates got me into it and we met alot of cool and interesting people. I loved it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in a house with a guy that was big on coach surfing (thats how i got into it) and we had a designated bed for his coach surfing friends to come over and stay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have walked around the active volcano, White Island, in New Zealand :) It was quite amazing for a geologist.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well with practical skills i believe i could teach some cooking skills as i love to cook up a storm. I love playing aussie rules so i could also teach that. Being a geologist i can tell a good yarn or two about how particular rocks formed etc etc. I love surfing so thats another thing thats always fun to teach people. I love to share a good laugh and story. I want to learn about people from all walks of life and listen to their stories because for me thats equally as interesting as nature itself.
