ABOUT ME

i like being on the go or just sitting in the sunshine and listening to good music. i love the beach and can spend hours roaming along the shoreline or climbing through rockpools and swimming.

my childhood was spent in a relatively unsettled area in south africa, so i still have a deep affinity to nature but also love the bustling city life which i have enjoyed since we moved to cape town when i was 13.

although i'm not an adrenaline-junkie i do love doing and trying new things and meeting challenges. i have river rafted, gone rock climbing, hiked up gorges and mountains and at some stage i definitely want to try out paragliding.

i love food - especially exotic dishes but prefer baking to cooking (although i'm working on it!)

PHILOSOPHY

to live and let live (within reason!)
to do as much as possible but also to remember to 'stop and smell the flowers'

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i attended the couchsurfing meetings in karlsruhe while i was there for 5 months. otherwise i'm looking forward to hosting and couchsurfing in the coming time.

the LOTR movies and foreign, art nouveau films

i enjoy reading autobiographies but at the same time also fantasies such as eragon or the narnia series. national geographic is also always a favourite of mine.

i'm open to all kinds of music, it depends what mood i'm in. among my favourites are south african local bands such as freshly ground, plush or parlotones. acoustic is also always great.

i can teach people how to develop a black and white film and photos, master the basics of juggling sticks or how to bake a traditional melktert.

i want to learn more languages, how to cook thai, and rockclimb...or anything exciting.
