Overview
About Me
I like to connect to other people while travelling, and see as much of the world with the resources I have.
I am uncomplicated as a guest, trying not to be a hassle and helping out where I can.
When visiting a country, I like to take my time and explore places more in-depth if possible (as opposed to visiting 10 countries in 2 weeks and checking off all the main attractions).
I am not at all religious - I prefer being happy with reality as it is. I really like the process of understanding how the world works, which appears a bit magical sometimes :)
At the same time, I highly value talking to people with different opinions and hearing them out, rather than just trying to "win" an argument in a conversation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Staying with locals always makes travelling a lasting experience. Especially in cities which seem huge and anonymous, one can feel lost sometimes. I have only surfed a few times until now, but everytime the experience was priceless, and I have been overwhelmed with the hospitality of the hosts.
I want to give back some of that kindness, but in my current flat I am not able to host others. I am looking forward to doing so when my situation allows it. This exchange is what the platform is about after all.
Interests
I am studying computer science in Ulm, Germany. I'm into Surfing and Ultimate Frisbee, I play the Cello.
Sometimes, I like to geek out over a specific topic for a few days/weeks, but I tend to forget most of what I learned afterwards. I still know roughly how to get to mars though.
And I like to catch some waves whenever possible - we don't have many in southern Germany ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to jazzy/groovy/electronic music (e.g. fender rhodes style), but I can enjoy a wide range of different genres (spotify:user:1164978796).
There is one podcast I regularly listen to, which is Hello Internet (Hi to my fellow Tims).
I love movies where there is some plot twist in the end. Fight Club is a movie I must have watched literally a dozen times!
I am not much of a reader but the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of my all time favorites, along with "Der Schwarm" and "Limit" by the great german author Frank Schätzing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my school days I used to ride the standing wave in Munich :)
