关于我

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Lucila, you can call me Chips. I just sailed in the Spring 2014 Semester at Sea Voyage, an academic program sponsored by the University of Virginia. We visited 12 countries in 112 days and it was (clichey, i know) lifechanging.

PHILOSOPHY

Always go to the toilet when you have the chance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't really dared to couchsurf before but I've met tons of people who praise it non-stop.

兴趣

I love cooking, science, comedy, literature, walking aimlessly, long conversations, travelling (dah), tea, the internet, and many many more things that would not fit in a box.

音乐、电影和书籍

I like Hollywood movies (specially superheore movies- IRON MAN) but I also love going to indie movie festivals, and I never miss the BAFICI (Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente)

I love all kinds of music because everyone at home is a musician, so I'm constantly in it's presence. What I listen to the most at the moment is music of the likes of Tim Minchin

As for books, I love love love reading and re-reading. I've re-read One Hundred Years of Solitude about 12 times. The last book I read that blew my mind was Slaughterhouse 5 but the entire list of great authors and books I've come across would be too boring, so let's meet for a cup of tea and just talk.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In Yangon, Burma, I was waiting on a streetcorner to meet someone and this random monk walked up to me and my friend and started talking to us. We talked for about an hour and a half and he invited us to his monastery the following morning. We took the sketchiest cab ride (in Burma, people drive on the left but use Japanese cars for right-hand driving) about 45 minutes out of town into the slums, where we were hosted by the Monastery's Master over tea and biscuits. They barely spoke any English but were desperate to share their culture with us. Afterwards, one of them took us to a different Monastery and he led us in meditation. We had to rush out because our ship was leaving, but we could have stayed there forever.
