My name is Lutz and I live in Lübeck, quite far up in Northern Germany (70 km North of Hamburg), near the coast of the Baltic Sea.

I'm quite busy with my work and in the free time I am currently renovating my appartment. So at the moment I can't offer a very cosy environment but if you don't mind sleeping on a quite comfortable retractable couch - surrounded by boxes - you can contact me...
Since I am also hosting the bi-weekly meeting of Lübeck's CouchSurfing community, I might also be able to help you to find another host.

But what I CAN offer to visitors to our beautiful city - whether you stay with me or somehwere else - is a tour through the city and maybe to the baltic coast.

And some words about my city:
The UNESCO declared Lübeck's water-enclosed Old Town with its 1800 listed buildings to be a World Cultural Heritage Site.
The Hanseatic City of Lübeck - is also known as the "Pearl of the Hanseatic League", "The Gate to the Baltics" and as "The World Capital of Marzipan".

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

On my business trips I stay in more or less fancy hotels all the time.
But I like to travel quite different when I am in "vacation mode": travel by motor-bike, going camping, staying in backpacker hostels,.... And why that? Because there's hardly a better way to meet people from all over the world.
And what about meeting locals when travelling? There comes couchsurfing in place... ;-) It's quite new for me but i look forward to a lot of contacts in the near future...

Also some German movies: Jede Menge Kohle, Die Abfahrer, Dr. Murkes gesammeltes Schweigen

Books:
Once were Warriors (but the movie is also quite good), The Bone People, Footrot Flats (comics from NZ), HG2G ("The increasingly inaccurately named 'Hitchhikers Trilogy'") and many travel guides...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Maybe my backpacking trip around the World for more than year?
But if I think hard, I might come up with some other "stupid ideas" of mine... ;-)

Two amazing thing I have NOT done:
I always wanted to travel across the "Lands of the Thunder Dragon" aka Bhutan and Sikkim with a motor-bike. And I also never made it to Antarctica - at least not yet... ;-)

If you are interested in computing or have problems with your laptop / Android phone, I might be able to share my knowledge with you.
And in case that the connection cable of your phone needs to be replaced: I have a quite big collection to choose from...

If you travel by motor-bike, I can share my garage and tools with you and there's also an excellent Louis-store for motorcycle accessories and spare parts close-by.

I'm an easy going non-smoking person.
I'm interested in photography, travelled quite a lot and have visited many countries - some on business, some on vacation.
So I'm sure we will find enough discussion points...
