ABOUT ME

Ken was born and raised in India, living there until he moved to the States at 19 years old. Linda is a native Georgia peach. We are laid back people who enjoy our life together. We enjoy being home playing with our animals and gardening. Family and friends are important to us. We are firm believers in volunteer work and community service and tend to focus on animals and the environment. I am a professional counselor currently working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ken is a medical technologist. We enjoy experiencing different cultures, whether it is on our travels or when someone comes to us.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are very enthusiastic about couchsurfing and have introduced several people to the project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have surfed and we have hosted. We were hosted in Athens Greece and we were treated like family. A story to sum up our experience involves another American couple we met while in Greece. Keep in mind we were there last year during the hottest summer on record in 90+ years. We came home with terrific memories of our time in Greece; our new friends came home never wanting to go back. The difference: being hosted by couchsurfers. Because our introduction to couchsurfing was so wonderful, we have welcomed the opportunity to host others. We now have some people in our lives that are true friends that we would not have met without couchsurfing.

Interessen

Traveling, of course! We prefer to wander off the beaten track and explore hole-in-the-wall places. Ken is especially interested in history, architecture and music. I am also interested in history but prefer talking to people and learning about everyday life in other cultures. I love anything to do with wildlife/animals. We both love nature and visiting places unspoiled by development. At home we love to play with the kids (3 dogs and a cat). We enjoy gardening and cooking. Ken likes music; I like books.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Ken is the music and movie fanatic in the family. He listens to anything, especially with an international flavor! I love books and find myself reading anything but really like fiction: psychological thrillers, medical mysteries, love stories, etc.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Charged by a black rhino in Nepal and an elephant in Kenya! Scratched baby elephant orphans in Nairobi and was pushed around by a little elephant in Nepal. Fed a large elephant in Nepal and giraffes in Nairobi. Got close and personal with tigers in India. Did I mention I love wildlife??
