About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Eu sou de ninguém Eu sou de todo mundo e Todo mundo é meu também"

ABOUT ME

German expat, living in Oakland California. I love trees and grass under my bare feet. The smell of rain makes me happy. So does the smell of sweet onions simmering in hot butter. I love food, especially Thai, Indian, Peruvian and Greek food. I enjoy making music on the viola, violin, ukulele and guitar. I like to sing, although I don't do it well. My favorite days are the kind where I feel like I've accomplished something, even if it's just going for a walk. I love languages, speak fluent German and Spanish and would love to learn more (especially Portuguese). I've been teaching at a Middle School since 2011.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and try to host when I can :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only great ones to this point. Good conversations over food are really my personal bliss!

Interests

"just be nice"I love music, languages and grammar, my students, kindness, peace and lovely people. I care about the state of our planet and encourage everybody to develop environmentally conscious habits. I don't like writing everything into a box

-Human kindness and compassion
-The lightbulb coming on inside a student's head

Things I've done:
-Hiked down the Colca Canyon (and took a mule on my way back up)

-Backpacked through Europe when I was 17
-Played in professional orchestra
