Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music: classical, blues, experimental... Some favorites are Tinariwen, Fairuz, Death Grips, Prince, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Phil Ochs, Joanna Newsom, Bach, Mozart, Bessie Smith... All over the place, I know.
I love poetry, including: Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine, Rumi, Yeats, e.e. cummings, Sylvia Plath, Nizar Qabbani, Sharon Olds, Billy Collins, Frank O'Hara, Denise Levertov, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti...Too many to name, but many more!
I also love classic novels by Ernest Hemingway, Tolstoy, Proust, etc. And lots of non-fiction, particularly history, political science, and philosophy.
