About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See all the things!

ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher who hopes to be teaching for the rest of her life. :)

I can't stop traveling. Honestly, I once moved to New Orleans by accident in the middle of a road trip. I lived halfway across the country at the time. 7 months later I moved from there to L.A.

I love new things. Not new as in freshly made or purchased. New as in novel. I love to see things I've never seen: people, places, whatever. I love to do things I've never tried before. Have a suggestion? Hit me up.

PHILOSOPHY

Never stop moving.

I don't mind having a home base, but there are so many things I haven't experienced it'd be really unfortunate to sit still for too long.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I can't host right now because of my roommate situation. I live in an art house in Brooklyn where we teach fire spinning and host rehearsals and practice events. If you're in town I'd love to show you some fire, though!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a bit, and stayed with some *awesome* people in Europe while on a 5-week trip with my mom :)

My favorite experience so far? I was doing a research rotation in South Korea and a few other people and I decided to take a trip to a city we'd never been to. We mention this in passing to our Korean lab mates and one guy says "I'm from there! I'll come too and we can stay with my mom and she'll drive us around!" So instead of the three of us in a hotel room it was the four of us and his mother drinking makgeolli and eating live squid until all hours of the evening.

That is exactly the way I want couch surfing to work for everyone.

Interests

I'm a fire spinner, artist, and English teacher, and I love making costumes! I live in an art house in Brooklyn where we teach and practice fire and flow arts.

I love to read. What books would you say have changed your life?

I love to hear about what interests other people. What gets you fired up?

Music, Movies, and Books

I love old horror! Think anything out of Hollywood from 1950ish-1970ish.

I've also enjoyed a lot of French films I've seen, although to be honest I usually watch movies to relax and fall asleep to, so usually I just go for mindless classic horror :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We chased a sunset flying out of Moscow headed back to the States- it was twilight for almost two hours. The colors in the sky graded from blue all the way to a gorgeous red at the horizon. It was like a sunset rainbow. I don't think I've ever seen the sky look more beautiful.

What I Can Share with Hosts
