Moved to Red Lake in 2018 and exploring as much of NW Ontario and Manitoba as possible.

ABOUT US

We're both from New Brunswick and constantly moving to wherever the work is. We last lived in northern Alberta for 5 years and miss the mountains.

Lydia: I'm a geologist that enjoys comic books, scotch and rocks. I enjoy trying new things and am all about seeing as much of everything as I can! When I play video games, I'm that person who has to find and break open every last piece of pottery and all the secret rooms. I have traveled nearly all of Canada (only missing the Yukon) and have been to Iceland and central Europe.

Steve: Formerly worked in the non-profit sector, now I constantly lift boxes of core at the mine. I'm the less boisterous of the two of us. I've been all across Canada, with the exception of the Territories and Newfoundland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Don't do much surfing ourselves, usually just tent in the summer or travelling with too many people that can reasonably fit on a couch.

Interests

Lydia: I love hiking and mixing up new flavours in the kitchen and making jams and pickles. I love comic books, some of the ones I read are Saga, The Walking Dead, Lumberjanes, and Rat Queens. I also love many other geeky things like Buffy. I like learning skills that could help me in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

Steve: Hiking, scotch, some sports, usually politics.

Lydia: Saw lava in Hawaii.

Steve: Took a vacation to Detroit.
