About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm embarking on a new season of life which includes travel and living my best life.
In addition to traveling to all the continents, I also plan to visit the "Blue Zones" and experience first-hand the holistic lifestyle.

At home, I enjoy being hospitable to friends, family and Couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was first introduced to Couchsurfing when my children backpacked through the UK and Europe. This inspired me to become a host which I've enjoyed for several years.
Now, while traveling, I want to spend time with locals to get to know people around the world and experience their culture in an authentic way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived a car accident (after falling asleep at the wheel) where my car went up the guy wire on a utility pole, clipped off the pole at 5 feet in the air, went sailing through the air and hit a tree!
Cannot really say it's an amazing thing I've "done" as I was sleeping when it happened.

Teach, Learn, Share

Enjoy teaching piano, voice, guitar and about natural health and herbs.

Would like to learn languages and cultures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We live on a quiet street within walking distance to lots of shopping. Off the back of the house there is a greenhouse, a yard with lots of seasonal flowers. The house and yard have many areas where you can cuddle up with a book.
Nearby, Tacoma has much to offer with Point Defiance Park and Zoo, Museum of Glass, Tacoma Art Museum, etc. It's a convenient drive to Hwy 16 if one wants to venture out across the Tacoma Narrow Bridge to the scenic Olympic Peninsula. We're also 22 miles northeast of Olympia and 42 miles south of Seattle. Traffic has become congested in the Northwest so allow extra time for travel. Another great day trip is Mt. Rainier National Forest (only 50 miles away).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Mexico, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Sweden, Thailand, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
