Hi! I'm Lynette and I'm from Chicago. I'm currently a student at Cornell studying business and design, and started using Couchsurfers during my gap year last year to meet new people while I was traveling and have been using it since :)

I love traveling, trying new foods, painting and running! I also really enjoy farming and being outside. During my gap year, I farmed in Seattle and around Iceland and Italy, which was a really fun experience. I also au paired and worked in hostels around Europe, then worked in China and Hong Kong for a couple months in the finance industry.

Meeting new people from all different places is always super exciting! It's fun to get to know people and to learn about their culture and experiences.

I like listening to a bit of everything, but my favorites are pop, rnb, indie music and acoustic folk. Some of my favorite artists are Mura Masa, Astrid S, Alina Baraz, and Father John Misty. I love watching Elf (I’m one of those people that love celebrating Christmas early🎄), Catch Me If You Can, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Herding sheep down from the mountains in Iceland has probably been one of my most memorable experiences! Seeing the northern lights there was also really amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help practice English and Chinese, or teach some of my favorite recipes! When I’m at home, I love to cook and bake in my free time.

I'm also open to learning any new things from other people :) I've been trying to teach myself guitar for the past few months, so if someone knows guitar I’m always interested! Or if you speak a different language, I'd love to learn some phrases.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to get to know you and hear your about your experiences and travel stories! And if you're interested I could share more about my culture, bring a souvenir, or cook/bake some of my favorite dishes and desserts :) I also don't mind lending a hand with housework
